Terms of Use
Effective date: September 12, 2026 · Last updated: September 12, 2026
In short
Mycelia & Rays is a personal study library for radiology learners. You keep ownership of what you upload; we use it to classify, index, and quiz you on it. Don't upload real, identifiable patient information — this app is for study material, not clinical records. New accounts get full access as soon as their email is confirmed, with no separate approval step. You can delete your account at any time. This summary isn't a substitute for the full terms below.
1.Acceptance of these Terms
By creating an account or otherwise using Mycelia & Rays (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Use and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't create an account or use the Service. We may update these Terms from time to time (see Section 14) — continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
2.Description of the Service
Mycelia & Rays lets you upload documents (PDFs, slide decks, images) to build a personal study library. It automatically classifies and files what you upload, generates practice quizzes from it, schedules spaced-repetition reviews, and lets you read, highlight, and optionally share documents with other users you connect with.
3.Eligibility & accounts
- You must provide accurate registration information (name, username, email, phone, country, city) and keep it up to date.
- You're responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity under your account.
- Where email is configured, new accounts must confirm their email address before they can log in — see Section 9. Once confirmed, the account has full access to the Service; there's no separate upload-approval step.
- One account per person. Don't create an account on someone else's behalf without their permission.
4.Your content
You retain ownership of whatever you upload ("Your Content"). By uploading, you grant us a limited license to store, process, transform, and display Your Content solely to operate the Service for you — for example, to run classification, generate quizzes, render it in the in-browser reader, and share it with recipients you explicitly choose. We don't claim ownership of Your Content and don't use it to train third-party models beyond what's needed to provide the features above.
5.No real patient information
Mycelia & Rays is a study tool, not a clinical record system or a HIPAA-covered "covered entity" service. Do not upload documents, images, or notes containing real, identifiable patient health information. Use de-identified teaching material, textbook excerpts, your own notes, or publicly available reference content instead. Uploading real patient data is a violation of these Terms and is entirely your responsibility if it occurs.
6.AI-generated content is not medical advice
Classification labels, auto-generated quiz questions, and any other AI-derived content are produced automatically and can be incomplete, outdated, or wrong. Nothing in the Service constitutes medical advice or a substitute for your own clinical judgment, your training program, or peer-reviewed sources — verify anything you intend to rely on.
7.Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Upload content you don't have the right to share, or that's unlawful, infringing, or malicious (e.g. malware disguised as a document).
- Attempt to access another user's account, data, or shared content without authorization.
- Probe, scan, or attempt to bypass the Service's rate limits, authentication, or access controls.
- Use the Service to harass, impersonate, or abuse another user, including through the messaging or friend-request features.
- Automate bulk account creation or use the Service for anything other than personal study.
8.Sharing & collaboration
You can share documents or folders with other users at your discretion, and connect with them as "friends" for messaging and presence. Anything you choose to share becomes visible to the recipient under the permission level you grant (view or edit) — sharing is intentional and user-initiated, and you're responsible for choosing what and with whom you share.
9.Account access & moderation
A new account gets full access to the Service — including uploading documents — as soon as its email is confirmed; there's no separate, manual approval step. We may still disable or remove an account, or revoke its ability to upload, if it violates these Terms.
10.Intellectual property
The Service itself — its software, design, branding, and underlying technology — belongs to us or our licensors and isn't covered by the license you grant us in Section 4. Nothing here transfers any of that to you.
11.Account termination
You can deactivate your own account at any time from Account Settings — your documents and library stay in the system (in case an admin needs to review them) unless an administrator removes them. We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these Terms, engages in abusive behavior, or poses a security risk to the Service or other users.
12.Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. We don't guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that classification/quiz output will be accurate.
13.Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including reliance on AI-generated content or loss of uploaded data, beyond what applicable law requires.
14.Changes to these Terms
We may revise these Terms as the Service evolves. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do; material changes will be flagged in the app. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
